Unifor rallied in Ottawa on March 20th, 2024 to call out Bell Canada Enterprises Inc. (BCE) for postponing a scheduled hearing before the House of Commons Heritage Committee to answer for the recent termination of 9% of BCE’s workforce.
Unifor telecommunications and media members demonstrated their solidarity and condemnation of Bell Canada Enterprises Inc. for its egregious job cuts, totaling over 6,000 positions in the past eight months, coupled with increased payouts to shareholders.
Despite the scheduled appearance of Bell executives before the House of Commons Heritage Committee to address these concerns, the company postponed the hearing for a second time.
Shame on Bell.
